Born in Fairhope, AL and raised in Elberta, AL.

How did you come to work in Alabama’s seafood industry?

Followed the family business.

Shrimped, fished, and worked in different areas of the family business.

What makes your company stand out within Alabama’s seafood industry?

We are one of the few companies in Alabama that offer various types of high-end, locally cut fresh fish for our local restaurants. We specialize in Red Snapper, Grouper, Tuna, Swordfish, and Mahi Mahi.

What is something about Alabama’s seafood industry that everyone should know?

Our seafood industry here in Alabama has been so resilient. Our seafood community, along with our local state agencies, have worked together to help us rebound from many disasters that have hit us in the last 10 years.

What is the most unusual thing that’s ever happened to you on the job?

I don’t know if it’s unusual or epic, but in 2011, we processed around 600,000 pounds of Roe Mullet in 17 days. This is very tedious processing.

What’s your favorite seafood dish to serve for your family?

I would have to say gumbo. It has a little bit of various types of seafood.

What are your favorite hobbies?

Cooking and spending time with my wife and two daughters.

Do you own any pets?

Yes, three dogs. A lab, a teacup yorkie, and a heinz 57.

If you didn’t work in Alabama’s seafood industry, what line of work would you pursue?

Possibly real estate development.
