Where were you born and raised?
Dauphin Island, Alabama.

How did you come to live and work in Alabama’s seafood industry?
My family has been in the seafood industry for generations.

Have you held any other jobs within Alabama’s seafood industry?
I’ve also worked in a family owned and operated oyster processing facility.

What types of seafood do you process/handle?
Blue Crab only.

What does your typical workday involve?
Receiving live crabs, cooking live crabs, processing (picking) cooked crabs, and then packaging processed crab meats for wholesale.

What is your favorite seafood dish to serve up for yourself and your family?
Gumbo and fried soft shell crabs.

Speaking of family, do you own any pets?
One dog, two birds and many guppies (thanks to my kids).

If you didn’t work in Alabama’s seafood industry, what line of work would you pursue?
I could not imagine that there would be any other job more satisfying than owning your own seafood business.

If you won a million dollars, what would you do with it?
Church, family and keep on working.

What makes Alabama Gulf Seafood special?
Of course, it’s my home state, so I’m partial. But I would say it’s knowing the people behind the businesses in Alabama. That makes Alabama Seafood taste even better.
