The Hangout Music Festival brings some of today’s best musical acts to Gulf Shores May 15-17, and Alabama Gulf Seafood will be bringing some of the state’s tastiest fare to hungry festival-goers.
A couple of local restaurants will once again be on hand at the Alabama Gulf Seafood Courtyard throughout the three-day festival, serving up the following popular Gulf seafood dishes.
We’re excited to welcome back Acme Oyster House and The Hungry Owl as they serve up delicious (and affordable) Alabama Gulf Seafood over the weekend. Our mouths are already watering thinking about their signature dishes.
This year’s menu will include:
Acme Oyster House: Founded in the heart of New Orleans’s Fresh Quarter in 1920, Acme Oyster House debuted its Alabama location just this March. The restaurant boasts the key to its success it to not get too far from its source, which is why its newest location is in Alabama’s Gulf Coast.
Menu: Boom Boom Shrimp ($7), Shrimp PoBoy ($8), Meat Pies ($5)
The Hungry Owl: Chef and owner Tony Nicholas was born and raised in Mobile, one of Alabama’s most historic coastal towns. He’s worked with Chef Emeril Lagasse and has spent a lifetime perfecting his Southern- and Creole-influenced restaurant.
Menu: VooDoo Shrimp & Grits ($10), Red Snapper Jambalaya ($10), Blue Crab & Lobster Mac & Cheese ($10)
“Alabama Gulf Seafood has been a huge part of the Hangout Music Festival for four years, and this marks the second for our Courtyard,” said Chris Blankenship, director of Marine Resources and program administrator for Alabama Gulf Seafood. “We invite the more than 40,000 people expected to attend Hangout to visit this area and sample Alabama’s unrivaled seafood as some of the industry’s best musicians play in the background.”
That’s right: We’ll be camped out right next to the BMI Stage all weekend, so you won’t even have to take a break from the live music when your stomach starts to growl.
