Outdoor Alabama, Alabama State Parks join Alabama Gulf Seafood in sponsorship of the Outdoor Alabama Countdown to Kickoff Radio Show

GULF SHORES, Ala. (Sept. 2, 2021) - Alabama Gulf Seafood, in partnership with Outdoor Alabama and Alabama State Parks, today announced a multifaceted partnership with the Auburn Sports Network and its ‘Countdown to Kickoff’ radio show for the upcoming 2021-2022 college football season.

"With the culinary scene growing tremendously in Auburn, we at Alabama Gulf Seafood found a way to plug not only our brand but Alabama’s overall abundance of seafood into the beating heart of the city: Auburn football,” said Tommy Cauthen, marketing director for Alabama Gulf Seafood. “With visitors and Alabamians across the state traveling for the games in Jordan-Hare and tuning into the Auburn Sports Network, it was a sure win for Gulf Seafood, the eateries this brand represents and our state’s vast ecosystem as a whole.”

‘Countdown to Kickoff’ airs one hour before each Auburn game and ends as the whistle signals kickoff. This season, fans will not only hear Auburn Sports Network hosts breakdown the Tigers’ upcoming opponents while on air, but will also learn more about the state’s outdoor activities — and seafood options — made available to Alabamians and visitors alike.

“With nearly a million acres of public hunting land and abundant freshwater and saltwater fishing options, you can hunt and fish your way from the mountains of north Alabama all the way to the Gulf of Mexico,” said Commissioner of the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources Chris Blankenship. “Additionally, Alabama’s state parks and Forever Wild tracts offer some of the best hiking, mountain biking, camping and scenery anywhere in the country.”

Commissioner Blankenship added that even if the outdoors is not for you, the quality of Alabama seafood as a draw to the state is unparalleled. “Our hope that is with this alignment, we extend the message to Alabamians and visitors alike to enjoy all of the natural resources — including our seafood — that make us so special.”

In addition to sponsorship of ‘Countdown to Kickoff,’ the partnership will include Alabama Gulf Seafood supplying pregame meals for Auburn Sports Network for select home games. Chefs from the growing culinary scene in Auburn will supply the radio crew, as well as select VIPs in the press box, a meal from the bounty of seafood the Gulf Coast waters have to offer.

The Countdown to Kickoff radio show kicks off Saturday, Sept. 4, as Auburn takes on Akron in the Tigers’ first season home game. Tune in throughout the 2021-2022 season to hear how Alabama Gulf Seafood, Outdoor Alabama and Alabama State Parks are making Alabama a tastier, safer and more beautiful place to live and travel.
