Where were you born and raised?

Trussville, Alabama.

How did you come to work in Alabama’s seafood industry?

We entered the fresh seafood world eight years ago. We saw a need and opportunity to provide restaurants with high-quality Gulf and domestic seafood.

What types of seafood do you process/handle?

We specialize in Gulf fish and shellfish. We work really hard to only offer fish and shellfish from domestic waters.

What makes your company/organization stand out within Alabama’s seafood industry?

Our efforts at supporting Gulf of Mexico fisherman and sourcing high-quality domestic seafood. We’ve taken many road trips to meet fisherman from Galveston, TX to Cortez, FL.

What is something about Alabama’s seafood industry that everyone should know (but they probably don’t)?

Not as many commercial fisherman in Alabama as you would think. And we have some of the best farm-raised oysters in the country!

What are your favorite hobbies?

Fishing, preferably with a fly rod on a river, or back bay fishing with my three boys.

If you could spend the day with any celebrity of historical figure, who would it be?

Moses, who wouldn’t want to see the red sea part!

What’s your favorite seafood dish to serve up for yourself and your family?

A good shrimp boil. Everybody loves it.

If you didn’t work in the Alabama seafood industry, what line of work would you pursue?

Something very simple, like cutting grass or cleaning windows. Instant gratification.

What makes Alabama Gulf Seafood special?

It’s ours, it’s local to us, and we should encourage, sustain, and eat it!
